Information is Critical

Last night New Jersey was hit by tropical storm Hanna, which totally rained on my plans for the evening. So, I stayed in and watched the Miami v. Florida football game. During the game, I thought I would have a cup of hot chocolate. I found Arizona Loco Cocoa Chocolate flavor in my kitchen and I thought I would give it the DFC taste test.

A great chocolate smell hit me as soon as the water hit the coco mix. I took a sip of the hot coco and was very pleased with the strong and smooth chocolate taste. Sometimes, I have found that when coco is made the milk usually overpowers the chocolate. However, this was the complete opposite, which was great.

The nutritional information was marked on the bottom of the box. There are 65 calories, 6g of fat, 0mg of sodium, 0mg of cholesterol, and 10g of carbohydrates. I was very disappointed that a serving size was not given, which makes this part of the review incomplete.

The consumer information was defiantly better then the nutritional information. Arizona Coco Loco listed a snail mail address, phone umber, website and e-mail address. I was unable to locate an expiration date.

Overall, I give Arizona Coco Loco Chocolate Coco a 350 DFC. I thought the coco tasted really good and was a very enjoyable tasting experience. The nutritional facts were missing, an important information with the portion size. The consumer information was above average but they need to include an expiration date. The portion size really hurt the Coco but I am sure if that is fix they would receive a higher rating.

I am not Everybody

I am watching the political conventions, since they are very entraining and interesting. So much so I developed an appetite. I looked in my kitchen and found Everybody Nuts California Pistachios European Roast. I thought the nuts were a little dry and lacked a lot of flavor. This was disappointing, since I had high expectations for them.

The nutritional facts were clearly marked on the back of the box. Based on half a cup the nuts have 170 calories, 14g of fat, 160mg, 300 mg potassium, 6g of protein, 8g of carbohydrates including 2g of sugars.

The consumer information was alright. They listed an expiration date, website, and a snail mail address. They did not list a 1-800 number. However, I did like the guarantee that they posted.

Overall, I give Everybody Nuts California Pistachios European Roast a 300 DFC. I thought they tasted alright and nothing to write home about. The nutritional raised a concern with the high amount of fat and calories. The consumer information could use some minor improvements with a listing a 1-800 number. I am glad I picked this as a snack, but I will not have in my daily diet.
